Overview
SpaceCat is an educational app designed to help aspiring engineers prepare for big tech interviews—using flashcards, memes, and a fun-first approach. The goal was to make technical prep feel less overwhelming and more engaging.
Problem
When Ishmeet and the team approached me, they had a great concept: turning interview prep into a flashcard-based experience that’s actually enjoyable.
But they were starting from scratch—no name, no visual direction, and no idea how to bring it to life.
What stood out was their dedication to making education fun, and I knew I wanted to help them turn that energy into a strong brand and product.
Project Process
1. Research & Strategy:
I began by exploring the current landscape of interview prep tools—not to replicate, but to understand what felt boring or overdone. This helped define what not to do.

2. Naming & Branding
Naming took longer than expected, but we finally landed on “SpaceCat”—a quirky, memorable identity that made learning feel lighter and more playful. From there, we crafted a bold visual language with space-inspired illustrations and bright colors.

Product Design
We designed a modern, intuitive interface that balances functionality with humor—using flashcards, spaced repetition, and gamified elements to keep users engaged.
Key Features
Unique, playful branding with a space-themed mascot
Flashcard-based learning with spaced repetition
Engaging, meme-driven UX to make studying feel lighter
Mobile-first design built to scale as a full product

Conclusion
SpaceCat turned a simple idea into a movement—making interview prep feel less like a chore and more like a game. From brand to product, every part of the experience was designed to be fun, friendly, and refreshingly different.
